Samsung Exynos 2600 – First 2nm Mobile Chipset

Samsung has officially unveiled its next-generation mobile processor, the Exynos 2600, which marks a major breakthrough in smartphone silicon technology. This chip is the world’s first to be built on the 2 nanometer (2 nm) Gate-All-Around (GAA) process, offering major improvements in performance, power efficiency, and thermal output over previous generations.

2nm Process Technology – What It Means

The biggest highlight of the Exynos 2600 is its 2 nm GAA manufacturing process. This advanced node allows more transistors to fit into a smaller area, reducing power leakage and boosting energy efficiency. Moving from 3 nm to 2 nm represents a major technological leap for Samsung.

CPU Architecture and Performance

The Exynos 2600 features a 10-core CPU using Arm’s latest architecture along with Samsung’s custom cores. The configuration reportedly includes:

One of the biggest jumps is in the Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The Exynos 2600 delivers over 100% improvement in generative AI performance, enabling faster image generation, better on-device machine-learning, enhanced camera enhancements, and smarter virtual assistants.

The built-in Image Signal Processor (ISP) supports extremely high-resolution sensors — up to around 320 MP — along with advanced video improvements. Features like 8K video capture, faster autofocus, and improved low-light processing are part of the upgrade.

Samsung has also focused heavily on heat control. Better thermal pathways and the 2 nm efficiency gains help reduce overheating and allow sustained performance during gaming and heavy workloads — addressing a key criticism of previous Exynos generations.

The Exynos 2600 is expected to debut in upcoming Samsung flagship smartphones, likely the Galaxy S26 series and select premium models across Europe and Asia.
